In Joshua chapter 3 we see the Israelites crossing the Jordan River to enter the Promised Land. In verse 5 Joshua tells the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. Using this verse as our focal point we will look at what we actually anticipate and expect God to do in our midst. We will finish with a look at how to prepare to be ready to not miss the wonders that God will do among us.
Leviticus chapters 8, 9, and 10. As we look at the story of the new priests, Nadab and Abihu, offering a strange fire which did not show God holy before the people, we see God send fire from before the throne that consumed them. Lev 10:3 is the key verse – “By those who come near me I will be treated as holy, And before all the people I will be honored.” During this study we look at possible things that the brothers did wrong or possible attitudes and motives that were wrong. As a result we see these same attitudes and motives in our lives and begin to the see the sin in our lives that we are offering as worship to a holy God that are an abomination to the Lord – the strange fires in our lives which are the sin in our lives.
WHO IS GOD!
This is a study where we look at names and attributes of God. The object is not to make the longest list but rather to realize that we must continue to grow in our knowledge and understanding of who God is so that we embrace all of who He is. We also look at names that are often misunderstood and ignored or denied as they make us feel uncomfortable. As we spend time learning more about God and His names we grow to discover that God is truly sufficient for each situation in our lives.
PSALM 40: 1 - 3 OUR SONG OF PRAISE
This study shows that everyone that knows Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior has a story to share of their conversion and the sin and difficulties that He has brought them through. As a result of their witness and testimony others will “see and fear and will trust in the Lord.”
In this study we will look at the various types of altars in the Old and New Testaments. This then brings us to the false altars that we build and worship instead of the holy God. We will also look at what the Bible says about changing these altars and behaviors as found in Ephesians 4:22-24. As a result we will be better prepared to worship the Lord in the freedom of praise.
